Vibration in process piping systems amplifies piping misalignment and it may result in serious safety incidents. There are two main causes of vibration which are mechanical excitation and fluid flow pulsations are identified on piping system. Mechanical excitation consists of unbalance and misalignment of rotating machine, pressure pulsation by reciprocating and centrifugal compressor and pump. Fluid flow pulsation consists of pressure drop with restriction, turbulent flow, cavitation, water hammer and surging.
